Both Hurricane Felix and Henriette made landfall yesterday; Felix in Honduras, Henriette in Mexico. Felix has petered out to a tropical storm with winds about 30 mph, but that was after coming ashore along the Mosquito coast on the border between Honduras and Nicaragua where a number of people are still missing. Henriette is still a hurricane as it heads across the Sea of Cortez and heads up towards Arizona and New Mexico. As commenter minstrel noted yesterday, hurricanes are bad news except when they bring much-needed rain to the drought-stricken Southwest.
Meanwhile, the newest batch of disturbed weather is Invest 99 off the coast of Florida, It can't seem to make up its mind as to where it will go; the models have it going every which way, including hitting the Georgia coast or heading off towards England.
