Question of the Day

Today is Bloomsday in Dublin in honor of James Joyce's novel Ulysses. I tried to read it once and couldn't get into it at all. I felt a little ashamed of that, but I guess for everyone, there's one -- or more -- classic novels that you just can't connect with.

What's the one novel or book that you're told "everyone should read" but you just couldn't get through?

Aside from Joyce, I tried -- I really did -- to read War and Peace. I surrendered after about fifty pages.
