Short Takes

Not so fast -- Russia resists sanctions against Iran.

Not getting together -- Reconciliation isn't easy in Afghanistan.

They're also having trouble in Iraq in working out the specifics for their next election.

Joining up -- The military is seeing recruiting rise thanks to the recession.

Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) is leaving Congress to run a think tank working for peace in the Middle East.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) won't be challenged by a local GOP "top prospect."

"Socialism-Lite" -- Even the workers' paradise of Cuba has trouble dealing with a recession.

Too much money -- The feds aren't wild about A.I.G. bonuses.

Sound effects -- Electric and hybrid cars need to be heard.

Maybe the RNC web guy should call Florence Henderson.

Rush Limbaugh might not yet become an NFL owner.

Like fathers, like sons
-- Being the son of Joe Montana or Wayne Gretzky makes playing football interesting.
